Privacy Policy

I want you to understand how I handle personal data when you visit braganzafila.com or contact me. This policy explains the purposes and legal bases of processing, retention periods and your rights.

Last updated: 8 October 2026.

1. Data controller

Name: Boda Katalin
Email: belovedfilabrasileiro@gmail.com
Website: https://braganzafila.com/

You can send questions and requests about the processing of your personal data to the email address above.

2. Scope and principles

This policy applies to personal data processed in connection with the use of braganzafila.com, enquiries, and photographs, documents and stories that you voluntarily send me.

I process only the data needed for the stated purpose. I do not use it for incompatible purposes or sell it. I protect personal data through appropriate technical and organisational measures.

3. Contact enquiries and the contact form

If you contact me through the website form or by email, I process your data to reply to your message and deal with your enquiry.

  • Data processed: your name, email address, the subject and content of your enquiry, the time of submission and technical data needed for operation and abuse prevention (such as your IP address and browser information), where the system records these.
  • Purpose: communicating with you, answering questions, dealing with feedback or corrections, and preparing professional collaboration.
  • Legal basis: for general enquiries, my legitimate interest in maintaining communication and operating the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where your enquiry concerns a possible contract or collaboration, processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Retention: up to one year after the enquiry is closed. If a legal relationship or claim arises from the message, I retain the data for the necessary record-keeping, contractual or claims period.
  • Providing data: voluntary, but I cannot reply without a name, contact details and a message.

Please note: the privacy checkbox records that you have read this policy. The primary legal basis for processing your enquiry is the legitimate interest or pre-contractual steps described above, rather than the checkbox itself.

4. Photographs, documents and personal stories you send

You may send old Braganza or Fila Brasileiro photographs, documents, sources or personal memories. On receipt, I process the material, the accompanying name, contact details and description, and any personal data it contains to assess your enquiry.

  • Initial review and discussion: based on legitimate interest. Material that is not accepted is retained for no more than six months.
  • Retention or publication: takes place only following a separate discussion and on an appropriate legal basis. Where needed, I request separate permission to publish and clarify the copyright conditions.
  • Other people’s data: please send only material that you are entitled to share. Let me know if another person is identifiable or their personal data is included.

Accepted material of historical value may be retained for the agreed period of use or until the relevant legal basis no longer applies.

5. Website operation, logs and security

The hosting provider and the website’s security systems may record technical logs during operation. These may include IP addresses, visit times, the addresses of pages viewed, browser and device types, referring pages, error messages, and information about suspicious login attempts or attacks.

Purpose: ensuring that the website remains available, works correctly and is secure, and detecting abuse and attacks.

Legal basis: the legitimate interests of the controller and visitors in IT security (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention: for the time necessary for these purposes, according to hosting and security settings. Logs relating to a security incident may be retained longer where needed to investigate the incident or deal with legal claims.

6. Cookies and visitor statistics

Technical cookies or similar local storage may be used for essential website functions, including security, administration, forms and caching. These necessary technical elements are used on the basis of the legitimate interest in the secure and proper operation of the website.

Visitor statistics on braganzafila.com are provided by the self-hosted Matomo installation described below and are activated only after you give consent to the Statistics category.

This website uses self-hosted Matomo to understand page visits and website usage and to improve content and usability. The legal basis is your voluntary consent to statistical measurement (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). The Statistics category is off by default; visiting the website and contacting the controller do not depend on consent to statistics.

The current Matomo implementation records page views only after statistical consent. The tracking script is configured to require consent, disable Matomo cookies, respect Do Not Track, use the local Matomo endpoint on braganzafila.com, and exclude logged-in WordPress users from tracking. Referrer information is passed without query-string parameters.

Matomo is configured to operate without Matomo visitor cookies even after consent. Complianz uses necessary cookies or local storage to remember your consent choices. More information about the technologies and services used on this website is available in the Cookie Policy.

You can refuse statistical measurement or withdraw consent at any time through the Cookie settings panel. Rejection or withdrawal prevents further statistical tracking, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. No advertising or marketing tracking script is configured on this website.

The consent banner and Cookie settings control the Statistics category. Embedded YouTube content is also handled through the consent system and is blocked until the relevant consent is available.

7. Processors and recipients

The following providers and systems may access personal data to the extent necessary for their tasks:

  • Hostinger International Ltd.: hosting, database storage, backups and server logs.
  • Defiant, Inc. / Wordfence: website security, firewall protection, detection of malicious traffic, and processing of IP addresses and security logs.
  • Google Ireland Limited / Gmail: handling, storage and delivery of incoming emails and replies.
  • Google Ireland Limited / YouTube: delivery of embedded video content after the relevant consent is given.
  • WordPress and Fluent Forms: technical operation of the contact form and storage of submissions in the website database.

Otherwise, I disclose personal data only where required by law or in response to a lawful request from an authority or court.

8. Transfers outside the EEA

Some providers or their subcontractors may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, transfers are made with safeguards required by applicable data protection rules, such as an adequacy decision, participation in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. The relevant provider’s privacy information explains its current safeguards.

9. Data security

I apply measures appropriate to the risks of processing, including encrypted HTTPS connections, restricted access, strong passwords, regular updates, backups and protection against malicious traffic.

No internet system can guarantee complete security. I investigate any incidents and, where necessary, make the notifications and reports required by law.

10. Your rights

Subject to the applicable conditions, you may:

  • request information about and access to your personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request erasure or restriction of processing;
  • request data portability where the legal conditions are met;
  • object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Send requests to belovedfilabrasileiro@gmail.com. I respond without undue delay, normally within one month. Where necessary because of the complexity or number of requests, this may be extended by a further two months. I will inform you of the extension and its reasons within one month. Where justified, I may ask for further information to verify your identity.

11. Complaints and remedies

If you believe that the processing of your personal data breaches data protection rules, you may first contact me at the email address above. You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority or seek a remedy before a court.
